The SMA curriculum is designed as a series of integrated studies that become more complex with each passing year. Lessons are initially introduced simply and concretely during the early years and then revisited multiple times in the following years with increasing levels of complexity. This follows Dr. Montessori’s "Spiral Dynamic Curriculum". Students progress through the curriculum at their own pace, advancing as they master skills and taking extra time when encountering more challenging concepts or skills.
Peace Education
At SMA, we implement Dr. Maria Montessori’s core principles of peace education. We introduce skills for fostering peace through lessons in grace and courtesy and classroom activities that offer numerous opportunities for students to develop inner calm and peace. This self-awareness helps students understand and regulate their emotions and reactions when faced with conflict. Additionally, we guide children in resolving disputes by employing strategies from our peace curriculum, establishing a strong foundation for developing the emotional intelligence necessary to lead a fulfilling and peaceful life.
